Low Furness School

This morning Sarah and I did our first assembly of the new school year at Low Furness School.  We started with an old favourite Great Big God then Sarah went on to tell a story about the parts of the body - that sadly didn't seem to want to work together anymore.  They all thought that the stomach was lazy and that he didn't do any work.  The hands and feet were fed up of fetching and carrying food and the eyes sick of looking for food while the teeth and mouth tired of chewing while the stomach just accepted all the food.  It wasn't long before the parts of the body became very poorly and then the stomach spoke up saying that they all need each other to work together in order for them to function as a group.  I then linked this to school life and how in schools we all need to look out for each other and work together.  The bible tells us to love one another.  I used the idea of a jig saw puzzle in that all the pieces look different and do different things and to make the puzzle complete they all have a part to play.  Sarah went on t say that when we work together and show love then we Shine from the inside out - cue for a song.  After the song Sarah closed the assembly with a prayer.
