This morning we went to Low Furness school again. We had an assembly theme of St Valentine - so we expanded on it a bit and did an assembly on love and in particular God's love. Sarah showed the children a text that I had sent her which was in a bit of code. One of the year 6 boys was able to understand it though. I then sent Sarah another message using two flags - semaphore which Sarah responded to by sending one back in Morse code. We talked with the children about how we communicate with each other before talking and thinking about how we talk to God and how He shows His love for us. Displayed on the screen were some random shapes which moved into the shape of a cross but after each move I asked the children did they see anything not until the last click did they see the cross - God's way of showing us his love.
