Broughton School

This morning Sarah and I were at Broughton School with the 2019 Transition Team.  We did an assembly to the whole school first then worked with the year 6 children giving them a booklet and helping them as they make the move to secondary school.  The assembly started with a drama about a family that was on the move, there was a lot of panic in the room as the 'children' ran about getting things to take with them on the journey - the panic resulted in loads of laughter from the children.  The drama linked into the Abraham story in that he was told to make a move the big difference was he didn't know where he was going to.  This was our final line - the children are all moving on this summer, some will move up the school while others off to new schools.  In the Abraham story God journeyed with him and we encouraged the children with the words from Joshua 1:8 Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid for God is with you wherever you go.  We then sang Great Big God and finished with a prayer.  After the assembly we worked with the year 6 children for about an hour helping them face some of the issue they may come across when they get to their new school.
