Coniston Primary School

This morning Sarah and I joined the 2019 Transition team to do an assembly and then a lesson with the year 6 children at Coniston Primary School.  We started off with a drama about a family that was moving, there was a bit of panic going on with the children as they tried to get everything they needed in the suit case.  Then one asked where they were going and the parent said don't know.  This was a take on the Abraham story when God told him to move to a new place.  The point was we all at some stage or another move on and Abraham didn't know where he was going but we very often we do.  God was with him as he travelled.  We talked to and encouraged the about the changes ahead of them and used the words from Joshua 1:8 as a way of reassuring them. We then sang Great Big God before finishing the assembly with a prayer.  We then went on to do a special lesson with the year 6 children about their move to secondary school.
