Flookburgh School

Last Thursday Sarah and I went to Flookburgh School for the assembly.  As Grace was free we also took her with us.  As this was going to be our last visit for this year we decided to talk about moving on, as each of us will do at some point in our lives and in the case of the children they will move through the school and the year 6 children on to secondary schools.  In other schools we have been telling via a drama the story of Abrahams move.  So all three of us did the drama, it was about a family that was moving and the panic to get everything just so and remembering to take everything too.  After the drama Sarah explained to the children what it was all about and talked to the children and encouraged them as they make the move forward not only through the school but on into new schools.  We displayed the words from Joshua 1:8 - Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid for God is with you wherever you go.  After this we sang Great Big God.  Then we finished with a prayer.
