Crosthwaite School

This afternoon Sarah and I went over to Crosthwaite School for the assembly.  It was great to see all the children again after such a long time.  Sarah started the assembly with a few questions like what type of animals the children have.  Then she asked the children what their favourite Bible story was, we had a number of answers Jonah, good Samaritan, lost sheep, nativity, Easter, David, Joseph... we were very impressed with their knowledge of the Bible.  Sarah pointed out that Jesus loved telling stories and we call them parables she went on to say that they are earthly stories with heavenly meanings.  I then told the Lost Sheep story starring Cecil the sheep.  Afterwards Sarah explained the meaning behind the story in that God is the shepherd and we are the sheep, and God loves us so much that he will go out of his way to find us - just like the shepherd with the sheep.  This linked in very well with God's Love is Bigger than a Burger.  Afterwards we got asked to sing the Chicken Dance.  I then closed with a prayer.
