St Peters

Today Sarah and I went and did an assembly at St Peters School.  It was so good to see all the children again after such a long time. Sarah started the assembly by asking the children what animals they liked so we had hands up for dogs, cats, rabbits, stick insects etc then she asked them what their favourite Bible story was we had a number of great answers from the children from both the New and Old Testaments.  She explained that the stories Jesus told in the New Testament are called parables and they are earthly stories with heavenly meanings.  She handed over to me and I told them the story of the lost sheep using the visuals - some of which made the children laugh.  After the story Sarah explained the meaning behind the story and talked about just how much God loves us which linked in nicely to our song God's Love is Bigger than a Burger.  After the song I closed the assembly with a prayer.
