Lindale School

This morning I went down to Lindale School for the assembly, the year 5 and 6 children had gone off on a trip so the gathering of children was rather smaller than normal.  To start off we sang Inright Outright.  I then started to talk about time I asked what time they get up, who tells them it is time for breakfast, when does assembly start and who tells them, how do they know it is lunch time etc….  We then played the 1 minute game.  I then showed them an apple and asked what is in side it - a seed came the answer.  I then took a seed and asked who tells the seed it is time to grow - as the children thought about this I showed them the apple cycle then displayed some verses from Genesis about creation.  I reminded the children that God put the seed in the apple and gives it all the right things to make it grow cold and heat, day and night.  I then asked what time of year it is - harvest came the answer.  I explained that harvest is the time when we say thank you to God for all the food stuffs that are harvested - but we should thank God for our food stuffs every day.  To finish we sang Creator God and then I closed with a prayer.
